Whilst the likes of Stella McCartney have pioneered the movement in ethical fashion, many other luxury designers have been slower to adopt sustainable practices.
However brands are slowly beginning to take small steps testing out ethical products.
From vegan watch straps by Cartier to
Gucci recycled sneakers and a plant
based tote from Tory Burch.
These products demonstrate creating more ethical fashion is truly possible.

The current fast-fashion culture didn’t exist during our grandparents’ time. How we perceive clothing has become skewed, in order to become a conscious consumer we must reframe how we look at fashion.
Sustainable fashion shouldn’t be viewed as expensive; it simply represents the true cost of producing clothing ethically and responsibly. Our grandparents' generation understood this, investing in fewer, higher-quality items.
In comparison they would have typically maintained wardrobes of around 30-40 pieces. In stark contrast, today's wardrobes often contain over 150 items, driven by the fast fashion industry's emphasis on quantity over quality.
Our grandparents valued durability and craftsmanship, buying pieces that lasted for years and could be repaired rather than replaced. This approach reduced waste and honoured the labour and resources used to make each item.
While our grandparents maintained minimal closets, current generations are driven by a broken fashion system.
The Carbon Closet hopes to be a stepping stone to finding a balance between style and responsibility, ensuring future generations can also enjoy fashion without compromising the health of our planet.
THIS ISN'T THE FUTURE OF FASHION, ITS THE ONLY FUTURE FASHION HAS!
