We all feel so motivated this time of year to set some New Year’s resolutions. Clothes and equipment are bought but just as quickly disregarded by mid January. So not only is there a lack of commitment, but global production and waste pollution has been contributed to.
The Carbon Closet urges you to choose a sustainable lifestyle as your resolution for 2026, the best part? You don’t need to invest in anything!
Sustainable living cannot be a passing trend or forgotten resolution — the world simply can’t afford it.

Where does Fashion fit into this?
Fashion in particular is taxing to our planet from the moment a material is harvested, up until the clothing is discarded, and remains as a problem on our planet for centuries to come.
The fashion world is not all doom and gloom. There is an evergrowing market for sustainable fashion solutions, creating new, innovative solutions such as creative leather alternatives, responsibly sourced cotton, and many bio-derived materials that replace polymer based fabrics, such as Tencel Modal or Lyocell.

Why aren’t brands concerned about just sustainable fabrics?
Simply put- it is not enough. It is well and good to create new solutions and to phase out unethical materials and practices but what about the existing products, pollution and processes? Brands that truly care are looking for ways to combat what damage has already been done. Ways they’re doing this, and as you’ll read more about below, are through using waste to craft new materials and products, or by going further than a net-zero emission score and aiming to remove carbon from the environment in their production.
With such new and exciting ideas on the horizon, we are keen to know what brands in particular have big plans in stock for 2026. These are the brands we should be buying from for the sake of our planet.
So if you're keen to ditch some bad habits (and brands) this coming year...

So if you're keen to ditch some bad habits (and brands) this coming year...
Here are The Carbon Closet’s Top 10 Sustainable Fashion Brands worth the hype in 2026.
1) Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney has been a long-running advocate for ethical, cruelty free fashion, but her ideas aren’t even close to running out, in fact quite the opposite! Her 2026 Spring/Summer runway collection featured Fevvers, an innovative, friendly alternative to real bird feathers, and the sustainability queen herself is looking to positively influence the likes of high-street fast fashion store H&M in their 2026 collaboration. We can’t applaud our beloved Stella enough for her unwavering dedication to ethical fashion.
2) Levi's
Alongside their WellThread collection; making the use of organic cotton, Levi’s is commitment to achieving 100% renewable energy usage in their factories by 2026. As of late 2025, they have proudly announced that 97% of their factories use renewable energy and plans to continue their efforts and hit their target in the coming year. We are so proud to see such efforts from one of our favourite denim brands, and we can’t wait to see what solutions they continue to apply in order to decarbonise their supply chain too!
3) Bottega Veneta
Joining Stella McCartney down the Spring/Summer 2026 runway was a recycled fibre-glass sweater by Bottega Veneta. Glass is one of the least common materials to see in the fashion world and this emphasises how unique and original BV’s sustainable solutions are. One quick visit to their website will confirm to you that these items are “made to last for generations”, so not only are we looking at some beautiful timeless pieces, but we are seeing some of the most durable, well made sustainable luxury products. This is a mindset we can get behind!
4) Lucy & Yak
As of September this year, Lucy & Yak debuted their sub-brand L&Y, which offers softer, muted colours and prints as opposed to their usual loud and proud style. But moving away from their traditional aesthetic in no way compromises on their ethical values and visions. With a small launch already here, L&Y are planning to exhibit a bigger range of products in Spring/Summer of 2026 which will no doubt be just as kind and considerate to the planet as the mother brand. We at The Carbon Closet are so excited to see some new fun and friendly fashions!
5) Veja
After the launch of their September 2025 film “Far From The Spotlight” which provides true and transparent stories about the people behind their vegan sneakers, Veja is no doubt looking to continually grow and expand. What’s exciting to see is that this expansion has entered into football cleats! This collaboration with Italian brand Magliano is expected to arrive for Spring/Summer 2026 right in time for football season. So you can kick this sporty season off in newfound sustainable style, with thanks to vegan Veja.
6) The Body Shop
After a rocky 2024, The Body Shop is looking to regain its UK and global presence and celebrate it’s 50th anniversary in 2026. The new year brings with it the new “ Spa Of The World” collection, alongside the classic favourites such as ginger and vitamin based ranges. The Body Shop has also released some new, fun body mists, shifting away from classic, staple fruit fragrances, and continues to support their in-store “return, recycled, repeat” scheme for product packaging. We’re so glad to see a firm favourite, PETA brand standing strong.
7) Pangaia
Pangaia has some big plans for 2026. Alongside trusty organic cotton, Pangaia’s main New Years resolution is to optimise the use of inventive textiles and bio-based materials, all the while embracing earthly, terrene motifs such as “Biodiversity Optimism” . This B-Corp company is one of few to have already achieved a carbon negative status, but pushes still toward what they call an “Earth Positive” goal, and intends to achieve a net-zero supply chain and deep decarbonisation of the environment. This is what makes Pangaia so exciting to watch in 2026!
8) Aspiga
Aspiga reasserts their mantra as their continual goals for 2026: “Doing right by people, Doing right by planet, and supporting positive change”. Some of their specific targets include the introduction of QR codes to their product labels, allowing transparency and honesty within their supply chain. Another big task this B-Corp brand has chosen to take on is reducing product sampling by 50% and aiming to use just 3 samples per product; using 3D technology to help develop products and minimise as much waste as possible. Keep up the good work Aspiga!
9) Agolde
Predicted trends we expect to see in 2026 include the rise in skinny jeans again. Even if this provoked an inward groan from yourself, Agolde has released their take on the style and it might rewrite your thoughts on the trend. This is a brand uses either organic or regenerative cotton to craft their jeans and we are so relieved to see an upcoming trend that isn’t so costly to the planet! Within the “skinny” category comes the straight-leg jean which will soothe a lot of worried Y2K survivors- either way, Agolde will have the kind of jean you are looking for!
10) Alkeme Atelier
It’s no secret that texture is huge in the fashion world at the moment: Fevvers from Stella, Fibreglass fringing from Bottega Veneta... And this handbag brand loves their texture. Alkeme Atelier has woven texture bags to crinkled-looking pineapple leather. Another reason we expect to see Alkeme Atelier take off further in 2026 is due to the success of the Wicked musical, which features their “Water Moon” handbag in the Emerald City scene! This is another bag with a beautiful wavy texture and created from Alkeme Atelier’s exclusive vegan-leather.
We hope you feel inspired to seek out crafty new clothes and one-of-a-kind materials. These brands all deserve a round of applause in their efforts to save our planet.
