France introduces new law banning the promotion of fast fashion

  • This law prohibits influencers or social media users from promoting fast fashion brands online.
  • Effective across multiple social media platforms, france will also be taxing the worst offenders
  • Under this law, ads for brands like Temu, Shein and other Ultra-Fast fashion suppliers have also been banned.

ASA bans misleading “green” ads from Nike, Superdry & Lacoste

  • Ads from Nike, Superdry, and Lacoste were found to make vague or misleading sustainability claims
  • Brands failed to provide sufficient evidence to support terms like “sustainable materials” or “sustainable style”
  • The ASA ruled the ads unclear and misleading, reinforcing stricter standards for sustainability marketing

New York Fashion Week Bans Fur

  • Fur from animals farmed or trapped for pelts—including mink, fox, raccoon, and coyote—will no longer appear on runways as of 2026
  • NYFW joins London, Stockholm, Berlin, Copenhagen, and others in committing to cruelty-free fashion
  • An exemption remains for fur sourced through traditional Indigenous subsistence hunting

Natalie Portman X Uncaged innovations

  • Natalie Portman has teamed with Uncaged to advocate for their production of Biomaterials.
  • The Vegan actress aims to demonstrate to the world that animal leather is a material of the past.
  • Uncaged's bio-leather materials, crafted from grain, plant oils and or natural rubber are already used by Jaguar, Land Rover and Hyundai.

B Lab introduces significantly tighter B Corp standards

  • B Lab have introduced tougher standards which brands are required to meet in order to obtain B-Corp certification, to become effective in 2026
  • New standards were introduced after Dr. Bronner’s—formerly the highest-scoring B Corp—ended its certification, citing diluted rigor.
  • Key changes to B-Corp standards cover seven core areas, including: Purpose & Governance, Climate Action, Human Rights, Fair Work, JEDI, Environmental stewardship and Government Affairs.

EU mandates Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Textiles

  • The EU releases new requirements, forcing brands to pay fees for waste collection, sorting & recycling and end-of-life responsiblity, incentivising durability & circular design

Ganni X Disney

  • Ganni has launched a playful collaboration featuring Daisy Duck across its signature silhouettes.

Renault goes leather-free

  • Renault will eliminate animal leather from all new vehicle interiors by the end of 2025.

SeaWool Textile Launch

  • Lacoste replaced its iconic crocodile logo with endangered animals, producing each shirt only in quantities matching species population numbers.
